Welcome to Cliche High! Let’s lay down a few rules.
The first rule is also the most simple: Be polite, be courteous, and use your common sense. I wish I could say this should be taken for granted, but some people need prodding.
Use sentences, use paragraphs, use punctuation. These things are your friends. You don’t have to be perfect at grammar, but we expect to be able to understand whatever you’re saying the first time without having to spend half an hour deciphering it.
Please, READ THE POSTS BEFORE YOU POST YOURSELF! You don’t have to read ALL of them, by any means, but at least read a page or two (unless you’re a Leftover from the old Cliche High, of course). This will give you the chance to see the kind of style we write in, and get a feel for the current situation before you leap into things.
Notes preceded by [OOC] in IC posts are allowed, but not encouraged. If you need to discuss things OOCly, that’s what the OOC forum is for.
Cliche High is an adult RPG. We expect you to be mature, and be able to handle adult themes such as sex and violence. However, it would be against ProBoards’ TOS for us to have explicitly sexual or violent material. Use your judgement in these areas; and when in doubt, just fade to black.
However, I don’t care how much fading to black you do: Rape is never, ever allowed to be played here at Cliche High. Violent death is also a big no-no. If you absolutely MUST have one of these things as a part of your plot, then first you have to discuss it with whoever you’re playing with, and if they agree you can bring it to me, your neighbourhood friendly Hiroshi-sempai. I’ll tell you whether it’s allowable or not.
There’s no posting limit at Cliche High (ie: “You must post once a day or we’re booting you out!”) but it is not unreasonable to expect a post a week. Stories don’t move if no one posts, and finding a few minutes each week shouldn’t be too difficult (if it is, one has to wonder why you’re looking for an RPG in the first place!).
Now that you’ve read all that, we’ll get to the part you care about. If you want to join, you have to make it clear to me that you’ve read these rules. Not reading the rules is bad, and so we have a dorky kind of way to check for it.
Basically, just post a reply to this message and say you understand the rules. But don’t JUST say that...I want you to put the word “chicken” in your post somewhere. Anywhere. The subject line, the “I, the chicken, understand” part, I don’t care. Just include the word chicken and it will be understood that you read the rules. ^_~
Now that you know that, and you’ve sold me your soul by posting here in the Rules, you can scuttle off to the Character Profiles topic and get started!
And of course, please remember to have fun. Cliche High is just a game, after all. ^_^#nosmileys
