Questions, so many questions!
To save time, here are a few of the more common questions about Cliche High and their answers. If what you want to know isn’t answered here, just make a post and ask it.
So here we go!
Where is Cliche High located?
In Denial City.
Oh, sorry, you meant what country. Well, Cliche High has something of a Japanese slant to it since most of the original players are anime/manga fans, but I wouldn’t say it’s actually in Japan.
How many characters can I have?
You can have a total of three characters. If you want more than that, you’re going to have to take it up with the admin – that is, me, your neighbourhood friendly Hiroshi-sempai!
What time is it now? How does real time affect game time?
The time is right now. Real time affects the game in no way at all.
...What?
What, you didn’t understand? Okay, I’ll be more precise.
The time is whenever you want it to be. Real time only pesters the players, not the characters. Time doesn’t really exist in Cliche High...that doesn’t mean you can’t refer to a sunrise or sunset or whatever, it just means that it can be different times of day for different players, depending on who they’re interacting with and what their plot entails.
Be flexible! It will make the game much more enjoyable.
What time of year is Cliche High set in? When do holidays start for students?
It’s not set in any particular time of year, and there are no holidays. That would only interrupt the game.
No holidays? So when does the year end?
It doesn’t. Once you enrol, you’re stuck in Cliche High for all eternity. ^_~
It would disrupt the game for people to graduate and move on, especially if people wanted to continue playing the same character. So your character will not age, and will not graduate, unless it’s a plot point.
But if it’s a plot point, please realize that you will have to deal with the IC consequences.
How does the topic system work? Can I play in more than one location at a time?
In a word, no.
When the setting for your scene changes, you post in a different topic. Most of the original players already know how to deal with this, so just read a few posts and note how people make the transfer if you’re not quite sure yourself.
Speaking of the original players...
Ah yes, the big move. ^_^
To keep up some continuity but still have a reason that it’s been so long since we (the original players at the old Cliche High) have been posting, we have a happy little plot hole for you.
Characters that were a part of the old Cliche High can still make their re-entrance back into the new Cliche High. That’s because there was...a school break!
It’s a bit of a weak excuse, I’ll admit, but it gives us the freedom to start over without losing any of the character development we managed at the old board.
Can I be a moderator?
No. Mods are handpicked, and yes that does mean there is bias. However, Cliche High is not a democracy. Keep that in mind.
Will Hiroshi and Kiyoshi end up in bed together?
...How did this question manage to get in here?
As for the answer: They will destroy each other. Draw your own conclusions. ^_~
